Sanitas Per Aqua is owned by Michelle Piercy. She brings experience, dedication, passion and insight - raising the level of luxury in the New Zealand spa industry. The quiet, private spa is away from the city. This gives you the chance to relax in a calming atmosphere of the Seatoun Village before and after treatments.
Michelle trained as a spa consultant in France and has worked in exclusive European day spas, private yachts, and villas. She also trained as a makeup artist at London College of Fashion. Michelle returned to New Zealand to create Sanitas Per Aqua - the first health and beauty spa of its kind in New Zealand - and has now made the sophistication and level of luxury seen in Europe, available to Wellington clients.
In Latin, Sanitas Per Aqua (S.P.A.) means health through water. Hydrotherapy is age old and has been used by all ancient cultures of the world to promote health and well being.
The acronym word spa means ‘health through water’. It is scientifically proven that your hydrotherapy treatment will, amongst other great benefits, improve your circulation, strengthen your immune system, and help heal tissue. You can relax in our exclusive spa and sauna room knowing you will be totally safe - Sanitas Per Aqua is the only day spa in Wellington to receive a Certificate of Hygiene from the Wellington City Council. This means it is the only spa approved as a commercial pool. You are therefore guaranteed a a hygienic, sterilized environment to relax in.
